Sarah Mae's remix of a Snippet of Trey's text:
While I disagreed with the blanket term "piracy," I did share a presupposition with adminstrators: students today comprise a new generation, a student body who deal with information fundamentally as filesharers. Unlike many of the administrators who manage educational delivery systems and the lobbyists who endeavor to encrypt creativity in legal technologies of control, students of the Napster/post-Napster era enter universities already experienced in digital media, more familiar with emergent forms of writing than the print-based forms of writing which have for so long informed our writing curricula and course design. As it turns out, this hypothesis would need to be qualified somewhat. And by no means did I figure this out on my own. But that's another story...
Definition: A pirate is one who robs or plunders at sea without a commission from a recognised sovereign nation. Pirates usually target other ships, but have also attacked targets on shore.
With this in mind, I propose the following remix of the above snippet:
Arrg
The Napster approached the coast of Academia, tearing through the waves of the open web sea. As it came into view the hungry inhabitants ran down the shore and searched the horizon. They were hoping it would bring the cargo they craved. As it was initially sighted a cry went up from the crowd. "Haazaa!" they cheered, happy to know that their bliss had arrived.
Soon, as the ship was unloaded and the cargo descended down over the side of the ship the people came to a harsh realization. Every crate that touched the shore was covered with stamps from a foreign land claiming the cargo within. "Arrrg" they cried - realizing that they would have to become pirates in order to have what they desired.
"To hell with the sovergin nation" they shouted! Take it me hardies - take it all!!!
