Okay...

So I have been talking to some of the Lebanese diaspora on Facebook and they seem to really like the idea of this project servicing to enlighten at least some of the world about what it is to be lebanese and what makes us love lebanon. After conversing I felt that "oh crap, now I have more pressure to get this right, thanks guys" feeling.

They make it clear that they would like to see at least some of the stereotypes put to rest.

I was just wondering if anybody had any questions or comments about Lebanon or the Lebanese or anything they wanted clarified or felt was questionable. I will try my best to answer them. I just really want to know what people think about this all, what questions they would like answered, and what things they would like to have clarified.

Please note that these do not need to be what you think, but also include what others think and believe. If I am going to make my work accessable to others outside of my "audience" I need to get more feedback.

Utter Confusions

"Why do some Lebanese refer to themselves as Arabs and others as Phoenicians?"

"Hend does not look Lebanese, but she claims she is, how freaky is that?" :P

"They cut off thief's hands."

"One of my friends claims that he really asociated lebanon like one of those small yugolsav republics, always fighting for independence."

"They are a stupid pushover."

"They should become part of syria or isreal"

"Lebanon is just a small terrorist country"

Please add more, this list only shows some of the points of confusion that some (if not most) have.
