Is the journey or the destination more important?
Brain wanted to say that the journey is more important than the destination. I believe he said that “all who wander are not lost.” Steven on the other hand believed it was best to work backwards; have you destination in mind and make a path to get there.
I didn’t speak much on this but I think both are important. It depends on the area of life that you are talking about. For me when it comes to my future career and school, I have a very detailed destination in mind and every step I take is working towards that goal. Every class I take, every club I join, even where I work now is all to make me look better so I can get into grad school and eventually start working for a company that will allow me to make the changes I want.
However, in other parts of my life, quite possibly the rest of my life, I am very random and wandering. I don’t make plans, I do things as I feel like it. I love to go exploring, whether it is a place I have been many times (rediscovering it) or a new area I have never been before. My favorite is little old or country cities. I love the little mom and pop owned shops that you can find there and the home made goods and crafts. I will go on long drives with no destination just to see what I can find. Enjoying the journey is very relaxing.
I guess the most important things is finding out what you want and going with that, whether you are headed to a destination or on a random journey, you have to make your life your own.
