I'm going to try not go go on a rant here, however, please forgive me if I do.
I was told that, for my schedule, I could spend my summer in Beirut. As the last time I've been there was about 10 years ago. I really miss it, I really miss my family, and yes, I can hear the world's smallest violin playing for me right now :P.
Last time I was there, I remember sitting on my grandfather's balcony listening to the reconstruction going on. I remember seeing the huge cranes. I remember seeing the holes in the buildings, scars of a war. I remember the smell of the city and how much the reconstruction was affecting it.
I had a trip all planned out. I was going to go there, and revisit my other city and my family.
But then... (cue forshadowing music)
I was informed that they must have made a mistake. I am going to be here for Session C. I have to take these two courses to graduate. As I only have 7 courses left until graduation and December 16th is graduation day for me....This was like jaw dropping.
I made an a quick appointment with the advisor for the COB.
I asked them what I could do?
NOTHING -basically they won't give me an override for the prerequisite because if they do, I'd risk "the university losing accrediation"
Ends up I'm taking this course over summer C.
It is on Tuesday and Thursday.
The final exam is on July 19th.
July 20th I plan on getting on a plane and LEAVING.
HASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
That really sucks, at least you get to spend sometime over there, I hope you have fun this summer.--Jess
