Perhaps it is a puerile way of handling things, but I found it to be a moral solution to my problem. I could either give people less than a perfect score and fear retribution in the form of bathroom assualts, or I could give everyone 20's. I fretted about being dishonest, therefore I chose to grade only people that deserved 20's.

The first is Meagan. I found her original work very creative. The dual perspectives, the acknowledgement of shortcomings, and the personal affects all made the story very enjoyable as well as operate on multiple levels. To take her remixes individually: She extended Charlie into a situation that seemed in conflict with Brian's original, the notion of Charlie operating somehow outside of his imaginary world. In the end, we learn that very apra po (sic) he had been dreaming the entire time. Normally I would have dismissed such a contrived deus ex machina, but in this situation if fits. Her decision to remix the paintings as opposed to the writing, demonstrates her ability to think outside the box, especially when to remix a first person nonfiction narrative would have been nothing short of immpossible while maintaining that genre. She also Remixed mine, where she dared to ignore the axiom "Don't mess with perfection". I thought it was very well done. She changed the setting and characters while leaving the context intact. This alteration of frame, allows for a different viewpoint while still maintaining the affect of the piece. 20/20.

The second is Brian. Brian's employed similiar technique throughout his three remixes. It was the shifting of characters. The King became the Queen, God became Dog, and the plant became the president. I enjoyed all three throughly. The changing of perspective makes it possible to say things in the text that were left completly unsaid in the original. Like the rotary blade and the president in Brian's remix of my story. Secret Service anyone? His original narrative was a character sketch which developed Charlie into a strong option for remixing. His focus on the internal as well as external factors allow for Charlie to become vividly alive. 20/20

The last is Crystal. She mashed up Brian's and Stephen's narrative into a super narrative. I really liked not only the idea but the result as well. She managed to get them to combine with fluidity. It also seemed probable that Charlie might develop into the type of precocious child who would create a talking fern. Her original narrative provided multiple perspectives of a journey. The journey or trip provides strong metaphysical allusions to what is going on in the life of the characters. The various voices are distinct and had they not been labeled, they would have defined themselves adequately. 20/20
