Another busy day patching up the proletariat... Thank Hippocrates this shift is almost over. Any more coffee and my kidney's are going to shut down, but then, I can't exactly fall asleep while dispensing scripts and wisdom, now can I? Oh bugger, monologue's over, pager's going off... (Heads to ER bed 15 for a pediatric consult)

Uh huh, Uh huh, greenstick radial fracture, analgesics, set, splint, and stitch the lacerations, what the hell was this little terrorist doing anyway, mom? Bouncing around the car outside of his seat while the irresponsible bitch was doing her makeup and not watching either her kid or the road... brilliant. I wonder if she at least has private pay insurance. Lets see, her husband's dressed like a wage slave, but an educated one, so maybe I can impress upon him the importance of instructing his other in proper automotive and child management techniques. Nope, in one ear and out the other with this one too, God, why they let people this stupid breed is beyond me. Alright, time to give the brat a lollypop and his sendoff. Perhaps this one's still young enough not to repeatedly stick his head into a ceiling fan just to see if it's on. Perhaps a brief lecture on causality and the importance of safety measures will do the trick... There we go, another satisfied customer, can I go home and sleep yet? No, another 6 hours?
