Cubital Tunnel Syndrome - pressure on the ulnar nerve causing tingling and numbness in the pinky finger, ring finger, and the palm just below these two fingers
Causes -
- repeated bending and straightening of the elbow
- leaning or resting on the elbow for extended periods
- a direct hit on the cubital tunnel
Symptoms -
- numbness and tingling (as described)
- tenderness in the elbow
- loss of grip strength and fine dexterity
- muscle atrophy and abduction of the pinky and ring fingers
Treatments -
Non-operative
- anti-inflammatory medications
- splinting the elbow while sleeping
- modifying behavior so that elbow flexion is limited
Surgical
Moral -
