Class discussion on the 17th dealt a little with destination and journey. Then Jessica’s blog Is the Journey or the destination more important? got me thinking about this topic further.

I’ve decided the destination will always be home. At the end of every day we all return home. Life is cyclical that’s all there is to it. We venture out into this world to only return home. Returning home gives us a sense of accomplishment and returns us to the people or the things that bring us comfort. It makes the day worth living, and the journey worth making. To be able to return home at the end of the day shows us that we have grown. It’s like the height markers that most people keep on the wall to measure their growth. Home typically remains steady and to be able to compare the variables to a constant shows us both where we’ve come from and the potential of journeys that are to come.

The physical location of home may change through the course of our lives but the general concept remains steady. It's place of rest from the weary journeys life takes us on, but there is nothing that will ever compare to returning home. I take comfort in knowing that no matter how far out into this amazing world I may travel, home will always be there, and the journey will always lead me home.
