Is being a vegan the most effective way of stopping the suffering of non-human animals?

The question is an off shoot of Cory's narrative. Here he explains the moment when he decided not to eat meat. I asked further, assuming that most people care about the suffering of non human animals throughout life and not so much about the death of the animal, if there aren't any other ways to stop the factory farming of animals. A conversation followed, transcribed later by Cory.

The idea that veganism being the best way to end non-human animal suffering. This may be true if one believes that the killing of the animal is an important part of animal suffering. If your beliefs are only concerning the suffering of animals throughout most of it's life, than there is another way.

Definition of ministrations from David's narrative.

Ministrations is\"the act or process of serving or aiding.\" To try to give a counterarguement, I will place this definition in place of the word ministration within David's narrative. "As he streaked after a nearby squirrel with murderous intent, I made my way gingerly to a couch in the entryway, and laid upon it to await the tender the acts or processes of serving or aiding of my mate." This test seems to varify the use of this word within the context of David's narrative. I do hope that this definition has helped anyone skimming over David's narrative to not mistake ministrations for any other word that may not work very well within context....

Definition of strappy from Crystal's narrative.

Strappy is \"A long narrow strip of pliant material such as leather... used for fastening or clamping objects together or into position,\" strappy would be the adjective. Within the context of this story, the definition seems to hold farely well. "The strappy things are too tight!" A counterarguement would be that strappy thing would not be the most accurate way describing the seatbelt. He could have simply said the strap. I suppose that the term "strappy thingy" is a more child like way of saying things. But if he wants to grow up than he's going to have to start talking, and thinking, like a big boy.
