IDH4000 Rhetorics of Rhythm

And so there I lay, in my self imposed cage, a prisoner of my own cleverness. The length of my sentence negatively correlates with the degree of pain in which I find myself. The greater the pain, the shorter the sentence, for it is my pain which inevitable causes me to reach out for the key of a new presupposition and honestly attempt to incorporate that view into my life. The Sufi mystic Rumi has been much quoted as saying "Sell your cleverness and purchase bewilderment". Or perhaps the scientific mind might be more agreeable to the Einstein quote, "Imagination is more important than knowledge", or the widely quoted "Change the way you look at things and things change" which is not simply another bumper sticker platitude, but a paradox of the physical universe known as 'Schrodinger's Cat'. I am blinded by all that I know. I am held captive by my contempt which disguises itself as intelligence. And eventually I am freed by the pain created from these presuppositions only to repeat the pattern in an eternal internal revolution. The truth of the matter is that I am insignificant, Just a drop of water in an endless sea (this link rates a perfect 10 on the unintentionally funny scale and adds further empirical evidence to my hypothesis), dust in the wind. There is great freedom for me in acceptance of this presupposition, however my ego and intellect rages againt the truth.

For the life of me I cannot remember

What made us think that we were wise and

We'd never compromise

For the life of me I cannot believe

We'd ever die for these sins

We were merely freshmen
